lyrics

It’s hard to find the right words to say when you’re dead.
I tried for years to tell you what’s been wrong with my head.
I waited for you to find me there.
I wanted you to see everything that plagues my life everyday.
It’s there in the morning, it’s there when it’s night,
It comes from the darkness, never fearing light.
I thought I could fight it, I thought I was strong,
But everyday living proved I was just wrong.

I could feel it in my blood, flowing through my veins.
It found it’s way inside my heart, it never showed it’s face.
The plague had taken over, the plague was here to stay
And I drove myself crazy trying to keep the plague at bay.

The pills never helped and the bottle never worked,
It was then that I realized I must live with this curse.
I left my house, I had to get out of that place
In hopes that the plague would disappear.

I walked through the streets and I couldn’t find
A way to keep the darkness out of my mind.
It took over my body, it took over my hands,
I never had a choice and no one understands.

It took all I had and destroyed everything,
It left me with nothing to look forward to.
I had to tear the darkness away
And I knew just what I had to do.

I went back to my house, I broke down the doors,
I tore down all of the walls.
I made my way down to the basement
Trying to fight my way out.
I cut off my feet, I cut off my legs
Hoping that it would help.
I ripped through my veins and tore out my heart,
My body just remained still.
The darkness kept my body alive
And I finally found my way out.
I floated out of my former self,
I finally found an escape from this hell.

I floated through the air and I couldn’t find
A way to keep the darkness out of my mind.
It took over my body, it took over my hands,
I never had a choice and no one understands.
I never had a choice and it’s too late to understand anything.
